20th Annual Magic Day Camp 2024
It's that time of year! Magic Day Camp will be held July 11th from 9am to 3pm.
Campers age 10 and up are welcome to attend!
If your child is younger and you feel they will catch on quickly please give us a call to discuss.
The cost is $35 per each camper for the day. Campers need to bring a lunch and a drink.
Each camper camper will have the opportunity to preform in the evening show.
The show will begin at 7pm and the tickets for non performers will be $8 and is open to the public.

Registration that are paid before July 1st will receive a $5 discount!

Completion of Class
Each course consists of five classes.
You will learn:
- The principals behind magic
- The different areas of magic
- Basics in several kinds of magic
- How to develop patter routine and a show
- Different venues for magic performances
At the end of course one students will have learned 15 tricks all using everyday objects.

Upon the completion of either Magic or Ventriloquism classes, the students will receive the following:
1. A certificate of completion
2. A chance to do a show for family and friends in the Birch Theater
All Classes are offered in groups or on an individual basis.
Advanced classes are also available.

2. How to say the alphabet
3. Proper handling and care of the vent figure
4. Development of a script

Brief History of Magic
Magic, also known as prestidigitation and conjuring, is first recorded in history in 2700 BC. The conjuring effect (ball) was by the magician Debi in ancient Egypt. He also has done other effects such as decapitating a birds head and reattaching the head resurrecting the bird.
During the Dark Ages of 400-1000 little is known about the history of magic.
The growing trading nature of society 1000-1500 allowed street or circus performers to make a living using classic such as cups and balls, and modern ideas such as cheating by short changing via sleights with coins and other small objects.
Modern magic brought magic from the street and circus side shows to an elegant stage or drawing room.
Erik Weisz aka Harry Houdini the King of Cards and King of Handcuffs was born in 1874. His name became a household word and ushered in the Golden Age of Magic. A second Golden Age of Magic began in the 1970's and continues until this day.
